LEGALLAIS provides the widest range of products on the market: 100,000 SKUs for 9 different trades, from 600 suppliers including exclusive brands as well as LEGALLAIS’ own brand, all delivered in a timely manner.

History of LEGALLAIS

1889

Daniel Legallais buys a hardware store in Caen. This marks the start of the great LEGALLAIS adventure!

1920

The company becomes “Legallais & Bouchard”.

1944

The buildings are destroyed during D-Day, but business
soon resumes.

1985

Focus shifts to professionals with a site in Mondeville.

1986-2002

National expansion. Opening of new branches in France.

1991

Leading catalogue on the market.

1999

Launch of the e-commerce website.

2005

New logistics centre in Saint-André-sur-Orne and launch of Legallais’ own brand.

2010

Creation of our corporate foundation, the Fondation d’Entreprise Legallais.

2019

The company exceeds 1,000 employees.

2022

Extension of the logistics centre to 45,000 sqm.

2023

Our CSR commitment achieves EcoVadis Platinum level.

2024

Legallais celebrates its 135th anniversary.
